Some follow up to “Faith – Own or Rent”

Lots of preachers will tell you that the Word is living and active.  That it still applies to all life issues.  That you can rely on what it says.  They tell you that the Word talks about a topic. But often they don’t encourage you to say what the Word says about it.

Are you fighting a disease?  Jesus heals.  Will He heal you?  If it’s His will.  Is it His will?  In Psalm 91 He says surely He’ll deliver you from disease.  In Galatians 3:13 He says in Christ you are redeemed from the curse of the law.  According to Deuteronomy 28 the curse of the law includes, among other things, confusion, fever, inflammation, mildew, tumor, blindness.  That’s dementia, fever, arthritis, toe nail fungus, cancer, cataracts.  All the diseases of Egypt and every sickness that isn’t written about.

Are you struggling financially?  The Word says He’ll provide all your needs through Christ Jesus.  But through 3 John the He also says it’s His will that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. In Psalm 34 He says those who trust Him will lack no good thing.  In Psalm 27 He says you can see the goodness of the Lord while you’re living.

Are you waiting for some type of application to be approved?  According to Psalm 5, He’ll bless you with favor that surrounds you like a shield.

The writer of Psalm 116 said he believed, therefore he spoke. Paul didn’t tell the Corinthians that the psalmist believed. Paul said he believed, too, and spoke. Does this sounds like that “name it and claim it” stuff?  It’s what Jesus did.  When Satan tempted Jesus, Jesus didn’t say, “Yeah, you know, the Torah talks about.”  Jesus spoke what was written.

In Psalm 119 He says “according to (His) word” – the way His word says – 12 times.  The Psalm refers to abundant life – revived, quickened, strong, delivered life – 16 times.  Verse 60 reads, “The entirety of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”  ALL of it is true, reliable, can be trusted and believed.  ALL processes, decisions, rights, privileges are for ALL TIME.

Do you believe that the Word says, or what it says?  One letter makes a big difference.
