During almost 40 years in the commercial credit side of Risk Management, I learned that Risk Management requires Faith. Risk management is preparing for things that haven’t happened yet. Faith is the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). We have risk management at work. What about risk management at home? What must we prepare for, since we don’t battle against flesh and blood? When Jesus spoke the parable of the talents, the master didn’t hand over 4 of the 5 talents to the servant with only 1. He didn’t credit 1 of the 2 talents to the servant with only 1. And the servant with 2 talents was just as “good and faithful” as the one who earned 5. Each had equal opportunity to do something with what he had. What are you doing with what He’s given you?
